

Dixie E. Wescott, CMAA
Dixie retired from education in 2020, after 35 years. She started her career as a high school teacher and coach. She then moved to the collegiate ranks for nine years teaching and coaching before moving back to the secondary level. This is when she began her administrative roles, serving as an Athletic Administrator and/or Assistant Principal, before retirement from the North Kansas City School District. Dixie has been an Adjunct Professor for William Woods University for nearly 20 years. In January of 2020, Dixie became the Program Manager at WWU for the Master of Education in Athletics and Activities Administration. She stays very lively in this role, attending many conferences and promoting WWU. Dixie was recently named the 2024-25 William Woods University School of Education Outstanding Graduate Educator. She is very active with the Missouri State High School Activities Association, as well. She has officiated high school volleyball for 18 years, serves as the Rules Interpreter for the Kansas City area, and serves as an Evaluator of Volleyball Official’s too. Dixie has worked at five state championships and was the Missouri Volleyball Official of the Year in 2019. Dixie continues her passion of being involved with high school athletics and activities. She works part-time as an Assistant Athletic Administrator for Grandview High School in the Grandview (MO) School District. She continues to enjoy her charge to serve student-athletes.

Matt Ortman
Matt Ortman was named the Director of School Administration - Athletics and Activities for the Blue Valley School District in Overland Park Kansas in 2021. He oversees five high schools and nine middle schools. He previously served as the Athletic Director at Blue Valley High School for 9 years. Matt started his career in education at Blue Valley High teaching math and coaching multiple sports prior to becoming athletic director. Matt currently serves as the Past President of the Kansas Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (KIAAA). Matt also served on the 6 th Strategic Planning Committee for the NIAAA. He was named the KIAAA Athletic Director of the year in 2019. Matt and his wife Mardy have two sons, Zach - 12 and AJ - 10.

Danielle LaPoint
Dr. Danielle LaPoint is a seasoned athletic administrator with 16 years of experience as an athletic director and is a proud alum of SUNY Cortland. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, a Master's in Health, and a Doctorate in Athletic Administration. Dr. LaPoint has served as an athletic director at a range of high schools—from large Title I schools to tradition-rich programs. Before stepping into athletic administration, she taught physical education and coached flag football, soccer, football, and lacrosse, building strong foundations for brand-new programs. Dr. LaPoint enjoys professional development and has served on numerous state committees. Increasing athletic director efficiency, productivity, and creativity are areas in which she excels. She recently transitioned from school-based athletic leadership into the vendor space to help athletic departments and state associations implement tools and strategies for success on a broader scale. Whether working with the team at Bound, within athletic departments, delivering presentations, or connecting with ADs across the country, Dr. LaPoint finds purpose and pride in advancing the field of athletic administration.
